Aug and Sept updates !!

 Hi Friends and Family I recently got accepted to a 3 month school with Iris Ministries in Mozambique Africa !!! They have a huge ministry with orphans all around the world. This is a dream come true for me ! AFRICA: Through much prayer I know that God has called me to go back to Africa! I ...have been waiting 5 years for Him to say it was time to go back! My vision has been to work with an organization that ministers God’s love to orphans in such a way that they are set free and healed from pain of war, abuse, the streets and losing their parents, but now are filled with joy and courage to be all that God has created them to be!!

 This describes Iris Ministries! Iris Ministries heart is for the poor and unwanted they have 5,000 churches in Mozambique and surrounding area’s and take care of over 2,000 abandoned children at their centers.
The Iris Harvest School of Missions begins on October 8 and I have been accepted for their three-month course. This course will help to equip me to minister Jesus’ love to the poorest of the poor. I’m especially excited to be with the orphans who I will live with!
It also includes and extended evangelistic outreaches in local bush areas where there is no running water, electricity, and no place for showers. All our drinking water has to be bought and carried there. We will live in an outdoor campground setting, living right where the people are, especially the children.
Tuition will include communal housing , a diet of African cuisine, mostly rice, beans, potatoes, fish and goat. There is a store where I will need to buy my own toilet paper, candles and matches for times when the power goes out, personal toiletries and snacks. Drinking water will cost me $60-$70 a month. I will also need to purchase travelers insurance and of course many other items. Total that I still need is $1,5000.

 PRAYER PARTNER : I believe in the power of prayer and I know that  it changes , lives , hearts and the world ! 
 FINANCIAL PARTNER: So far through so many of your generous gifts my tuition and plane tickets ,visa and some supplies have been bought !!  Praise God !! What is left to raise : 1,500 this is for many supplies I will need while there and ones i still need to buy before I go .

SEPT 10th 2010:
   I said goodbye with tears , hugs , dancing laughing , great prayers and great food !!I felt very loved and cared for as I was sent off by my friends in Portland OR . THANKS GUYS!! I cried many times in worship overwhelmed by the friends he had blessed me with in Portland and also all those out there who I know have been praying for me faithfully! So much of these blessings have come through your prayers !! I know God will bless you ten fold !!! My Dad and I ( Brother Tony ) :) drove through California praying , singing , crying and Laughing !!!! I got to see an amazing friend and my god daughter so fun!! I am staying with my family rite now , mama Margaret , Papito ( bro tony)  my sister Sabrina and my cute nephew Aden who live on a farm with horses and where I can see the stars at night! This time has been a place of rest where I have been able to spend more time with God who has been preparing my heart for what He has planned for me in Mozambique. So far I feel like he is saying that It will be SO fun, he will be giving me more of his heart to love the poor see him in the face of suffering , know his love for me in a deeper way, become more bold and less ashamed of living and preaching his gospel , learning to practice the authority that I have as his daughter , that he will supply all my needs and I will abandon more of what holds me back from his fullness !!! Ok sounds good to me! Of course I get nervous when I start to think about things like malaria or over grown rats but then that's when I cry out to God and he gives me peace , yes I will take all the prayers I can get ! 
 THIS WEEK : I am reading psalm 91  ,Ephesians  , Always Enough by : Heidi and Rolland Baker ( iris ministries ) Having a going away party, giving lot's of hugs to loved ones, practice packing and setting up my tent ( making shure it all fits.) speaking at a bible studies and  churches about God giving us the desires of our heats and what he has done in my life , missing  my PDX family  and so much more! I just want to say how blessed I am by each of you and knowing you all go with me in spirit has brought me so much peace and joy that has made such a difference !!! Please write me let me know how you are whats new with you !!!! Ok now I am going to try to post pictures and pay pal on this blog!! Wish me good luck !!!
